Brown Butter Sea Salt Cookies

Brown Butter Sea Salt Cookies

Butta, Butta, Butta Baby!

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. Pretty much every time I say “butter,” I say “butta” and always add the baby at the end. I have no idea why, but it just makes me feel good 🙂

Okay, back to the recipe…

Today I’m sharing another cookie recipe that I searched high and low for.  Back when we lived on the Central Coast of California, San Miguel to be exact, we had the pleasure of being gifted an amazing box of cookies from a boutique bakery in Cayucos, CA  Brown Butter Cookie Company.  I love a good shortbread cookie, and these have an amazingly soft and sandy texture with the sweetness of the sugar and savoriness of the brown butter, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt, your taste buds are so delighted after the first bite you’ll end up wanting to eat the entire package.

After we devoured all of our cookies, I was determined to make my own, how hard could it be?  Well, it’s not easy at all.  However, after a bit of digging on the internet, I came across a recipe from Marina Delio and her Yummy Mummy Kitchen blog.  Maria had figured out a recipe that comes very close to the Brown Butter Cookie Company’s recipe, so I gave it a try and sure enough, these are a very close match.

This is another easy recipe that doesn’t take much time or ingredients and will certainly satisfy your salty-sweet tooth.

Now let’s get baking…
